Manchester United fans will nod in agreement at statement about Van Gaal’s last sacking

Plenty of Manchester United fans are of the opinion that Louis van Gaal's time at Old Trafford is up.

The club have dropped out of the Champions League despite an easy group draw, and defeat at home to Norwich leaves United with just one home league win since September. It also leaves the fans pining for Guardiola. Their Dutch boss' playing style has also come in for some criticism, with many questioning the bluntness in attack which has seen the club score fewer goals than former United favourite Javier Hernandez in their last 14 games. If you kept up with van Gaal's efforts in charge of Bayern Munich, this might all seem familiar. He was let go by the German giants in similar circumstances, and now a statement from Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has resurfaced as a timely reminder.
