Marcos Rojo’s head wound from Manchester derby clash is not for the squeamish

He's been through the wars.

Much of the media attention following the Manchester derby has focused on the tunnel fracas, including the cut Mikel Arteta sustained in the middle of it all. However, while the Manchester City coach has covered the wound with his hand in the days since, it's difficult to imagine that it's worse than the one picked up by Marcos Rojo. The cause of the gruesome gash on the United defender's hairline was more conventional, challenging with David Silva for the ball, rather than a melee in the away dressing room. The Argentine defender seems to have come off much worse, showing off a nasty cut which forced him off at half-time. https://twitter.com/EthanMUFC24/status/941002262687768576 United boss Jose Mourinho said he was unsure over whether Rojo would recover in time for the clash with Bournemouth tonight.

"He's a brave guy. I don't know, let's see if he can be ready for the match. but if he's not ready, we have other alternatives to play."

Rojo has earned himself a reputation as a courageous defender and, with wounds like this, we can see why.
