Marcus Rashford causes wobbles among United fans with latest interview

"I would never say no"

Marcus Rashford has revealed in an interview that he is open to the idea of playing abroad at some point in his career. Speaking to the Guardian in wide-ranging interview covering his charity work, upbringing, and new children's book amongst other things, Rashford said that he would "never say no" to playing abroad. The Manchester United and England star said that he was "a big fan of Real Madrid and Barcelona, because they've always had great players and played attractive football." He also revealed that he is trying to learn Spanish and Italian, in order to communicate better with other players. In the interview, Rashford said: "When I was growing up, learning a language wasn’t deemed important in school. There wasn’t that expectation on you. Football has given me the opportunity to travel to different countries, and you have certain countries you like and want to learn more about, and learning a language is definitely a part of that. When asked about his thoughts on playing abroad and his favourite European sides, the forward continued:

"I would never say no.” "Other than United [his ideal club to play for]? I'm a big fan of Real Madrid and Barcelona, because they’ve always had great players and played attractive football."

Rashford recently became the youngest person ever to top the Sunday Times Giving List, which ranks the super-rich based on their charitable donations. His work for food poverty charity FareShare have triggered an estimated £20 million in additional donations to the charity. And it seems like he is now turning his attention to reading amongst children, with his new book You Are A Champion. The book combines commonsense advice with stories from Rashford’s life, and is targeted at the estimated 383,000 kids in the UK who have never owned a book.
