Memphis Depay admits he’s struggling to adapt to the Premier League

It'll be no surprise to you to learn that Memphis Depay has struggled so far at Manchester United.

The Dutch winger has started every game for his new side in the Premier League, but has just one league goal and has only completed 90 minutes on three occasions. The 21-year-old has also lost the ball more than any other player who has made more than three top-flight starts this season. One could argue inconsistency is part of the package for a young player, but that would require Depay to actually show good form at some point, and now the winger has admitted he has struggled to adapt to live in the Premier League. However, the Dutch winger has admitted it's the physical aspect of England's top flight, rather than increased skill of opponents, that has caused him most trouble. "In Manchester I play a lot of games," Depay told Dutch media. "There are very few days that I can rest out." "On training days you are mainly concerned with conditioning. It’s heavy, two games a week, always at a high level. Because of that, my body still has to get used to it all." However, Depay also says he's happy to have made to move to United. "I try in my career to take many steps. I think this was the right step, and am happy in Manchester."
