Mesut Özil makes his feelings known after Man City thrash Arsenal

Mesut Özil appeared to mock his former side Arsenal after they were thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City on Saturday afternoon. It was a historic defeat for Arsenal, as they have now lost their first three league games of a season for the first time since 1954-55. As Rodri slotted the fourth goal in, Arsenal fans were celebrating, maybe out of frustration, maybe because it is one small step closer to Mikel Arteta getting the sack. And Mesut Özil, who was frozen out under Arteta, appears to have joined in on the mockery. But that feels unlikely, given the bitter end to his time in North London and his fractious relationship with Arteta. The response from Arsenal fans to Özil's tweet was mixed, with some fans so accepting of Arsenal's bleak reality that they have no option but to laugh, and others criticising his 'childish' behaviour.
