Nemanja Vidic refuses to criticise Jose Mourinho because he “wants to become Manchester United manager”

"For me to criticise Jose Mourinho, as someone who in the future could become the manager... It's not fair."

Nemanja Vidic has lofty aims for his managerial career. And as such he isn't prepared to criticise Jose Mourinho. On beIN Sports on Sunday afternoon, the former Manchester United defender admitted that he wants to eventually manage the club he represented with distinction for eight years. The former United captain was a pundit for coverage of the team's 3-1 loss to Manchester City and didn't join those who took aim at Mourinho following the defeat. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/1061696827920138242 City played their rivals off the park. Goals from David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan gave them victory in a match they dominated from the first whistle to the last. Anthony Martial's goal from the penalty spot gave United some hope. But they were second-best and the game only served to highlight the gulf in class between the two Manchester teams. It also arguably conveyed that Pep Guardiola has left Mourinho eating his dust and the pair are no longer really rivals. The City manager has taken his team to another level while United continue to flounder. However, Vidic wouldn't buy into that narrative.
