Neymar ‘exercises option to extend £24m-a-year PSG contract’

Neymar has reportedly exercised an option to extend his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, despite speculation that he was set to leave the club. The 30-year-old has been linked with a number of club this summer - including Chelsea and Newcastle - following reports that the Parisians told the Brazilian that he was no longer needed at Le Parc des Princes. Neymar - who extended his previous deal in 2021 - is currently under contract until 2025, and it is thought that the 30-year-old is earning £24m-a-year. Therefore, it would take a significant transfer fee to secure the attacker's signature. He registered 13 goals and eight assists in 28 appearances during PSG's title-winning campaign last season but spent time on the sidelines between December and February after suffering an ankle injury.
