At the start of the season, the then relatively unheralded Anthony Martial signed for Manchester United for an initial £36 million (€45 million) and, to be fair, he's proven to be a solid acquisition.
But that fee makes N'Golo Kante's rumoured release clause seem like a pittance as he's Premier League proven and, presuming Leicester don't bottle the league, will have played a huge role in delivering the top flight title to the Foxes in his first season in England.
And, according to the Daily Mail, he can be prised away from the KP Stadium for as little as £20 million (€25 million).
Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the France international and that interest will have spiked significantly with the knowledge of this clause.
Kante has expressed a desire to remain with Leicester beyond the summer but has acknowledged the rumours linking him with a move away.
"I will fight for Leicester this season and next season we never know and we will see," he said. "At this moment I am focused on Leicester. We have to finish well this season but I don’t mind about [being linked to] the other clubs."
