WATCH: Official MLS account absolutely slates Nigel de Jong as LA Galaxy contract terminated

You're terminated.

Apart from all the messing around, they don't mess around in Los Angeles. Nigel de Jong is no longer a LA Galaxy player. Robbie Keane will return to his club side to find it missing its big, Dutch midfield enforcer. De Jong was paid a heap of money for his short stint in L.A [approximately £900,000 for five months] but he is now a Galatasaray man. They could have got Jeff Hendrick; they went for Nigel. Given that Galaxy have enjoyed successful European signings such as David Beckham, Keane and Steven Gerrard, they were not overly enamoured with de Jong's lax attitude to work, and play. Still, the club wished him well on his journeys. If only the same could be said for the folks running online affairs for Major League Soccer. They put together this less than flattering montage of de Jong chopping fellow footballers down and causing havoc:

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. The video makes a very good point, however. De Jong's speedy exit frees up salary cap space for a new, marqueé signing.... Addressing the media on Tuesday, before his final game for Germany, Bastian Schweinsteiger said he would be open to the possibility of a move to the MLS.
