Rangnick has been vocal about the issues at the Red Devils and wants to share his suggestions to improve the situation with the club's incoming manager. Ten Hag is due to start his role early after agreeing to mutually terminate his contract with Ajax following the conclusion of the Dutch season.

Rangnick, however, is keen to speak with Ten Hag and tell him about the many issues currently besetting the club. The 63-year-old wants to give Ten Hag a 'detailed and unsparing assessment of the club's playing squad.' Rangnick is said to believe that the current squad is unfit for purpose, lacking the physicality and character traits required to compete with the best in the Premier League and Europe. He is also reportedly keen to give his thoughts on how the squad can be improved. Rangnick is due to move into a consultancy role at the club at the end of the season, a position he will combine with his new job as manager of the Austria national team. The uncertainty around Rangnick's position appears to be because his successor is set to start in his new role sooner than expected.
