Since Alex Ferguson revealed the only four players he considers 'world class' that he worked with during his time as Manchester United manager, debates have been raging. Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Eric Cantona were the chosen quartet, but the omissions of players such as Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Peter Schmeichel hasn't gone down well with some football fans. Ferguson's view has even sparked a debate around what exactly makes a player 'world class'. Former United defender Rio Ferdinand weighed in on the debate earlier today with on his Facebook page. Rio lists "performing in the big games, consistency" and "a high level of ability in all areas of the game" among the qualities needed. "That list could go on and on with many different areas to judge upon! "There is no common rule that serves up the criteria. It's a great debate to have amongst friends - we've all done it!" Rio also takes issue with Ferguson omitting him from the esteemed list. Kind of.
