Roy Keane finally says what a lot of people have been thinking following Erling Haaland's poor performance against Arsenal yesterday in a game that ended up scoreless.
Haaland has been sensational in front of goal ever since arriving to England, breaking records and finding the net time after time again, however, in the rare games where he doesn't score, or even in the ones where he only gets one, the rest of general play has been criticised.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Keane put it in black and white, calling out the striker's performance, and how this has happened before.
‘The level of his general play is so poor and not just today.
"I think laying his stuff off, headers, whatever it might be…. In terms of in front of goal, he’s the best in the world. But his general play for such a player it is so poor. Not just today, he has to improve.
"He’s almost like a League Two player, that’s how I look at him. His general play has to improve and it will do over the next few years..
"Being a brilliant striker is fantastic, but he has to improve his all-round game."
Haaland faced similar criticism following City's 1-1 draw with Liverpool last month, where the goal-getter wasn't really involved in the game, and had little influence on it.
Yesterday's draw means that Liverpool are two points clear at the top of the table, meaning that they the title is in their hands if they win their remaining games, however, tough fixtures against Man United and Spurs will prove challenging.
