Roy Keane had stated that he 'disagrees' with everything Michael Carrick said following Manchester United's 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday. The former Red Devils captain took issue with Carrick saying he was "proud" of his players' performance in the match at Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea levelled proceedings when Jorginho converted a penalty after Aaron Wan-Bissaka fouled Thiago Silva in the penalty area. The decision to award the penalty is one that angered caretaker manager Michael Carrick, who, speaking in his post-match press conference, suggested that the home side shouldn't have been awarded a spot-kick. Carrick also praised his players for their performances, arguing that they 'unfairly had the three points taken away from them'. Despite this, Keane said that he disagreed with everything that the caretaker boss said.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, the Irishman said: "I disagree with everything he said in that interview. "He's talking about a plan, he's talking about the penalty, of course, it was a penalty. "He's talking about the players' efforts, he's proud of them, he's been working alongside the players for the last few months, he was alongside Ole in the dugout, now all of a sudden he's proud of them this week? What about the other games they had? "Why aren't they making effort in the other games? Why aren't they closing down people in the other games? "We've seen all the stats before the match, they're the worst in the league at closing people down and winning the ball back. "Praising players for doing their jobs, he mentioned the three midfield players, it's ridiculous. "He was sitting in the dugout for the last few years with Ole, he was sitting with [Jose] Mourinho as well, he's working with the same players."
