Roy Keane delivered a harsh critique of Scotland's performance following their 5-1 defeat against Germany on Friday in Munich.
The match, marking the opening game of Euro 2024, saw Steve Clarke’s side thoroughly outclassed. Germany achieved the largest margin of victory in any European Championship opening match.
Post-match, Keane, alongside other ITV pundits Ian Wright and Graeme Souness, criticised Scotland captain Andy Robertson's comments about the team wanting to create history.
Reacting to Robertson's remarks, Keane labelled the captain's comments as 'rubbish'.
"They spoke before the game about creating history. They're creating history alright, by being as bad as they can."
Keane pointed out the lack of quality in Scotland's play, especially their inability to connect passes and respond to Germany's excellence.
Scotland’s defence was notably weak, with Ryan Porteous’s red card and subsequent penalty sealing their fate.
Keane emphasised the importance of aggression in football, criticising Scotland’s lack of it: "When you’re up against opposition who are much stronger than you, being aggressive is part of a footballer."
"You knew before the game what was at stake and after the game it’s no good going ‘we’ll regroup and we’ll be angry tomorrow.’ No, you should be angry for a long time."
