Seamus Coleman will return to the homeland this month as Everton face League of Ireland opposition as part of their pre-season preparations.
Coleman will be at Goodison Park for another year after extending his contract and to celebrate his new deal, will lead the Toffees out against his boyhood club Sligo Rovers.
Everton are making the short trip across from Liverpool to undertake a pre-season training camp.
Sligo and Everton are on particularly good terms after the latter signed the Donegal native from the former.
The game will take place on Friday July 19 at The Showgrounds at 4pm.
Going into his 16th season at the Merseyside club, Coleman is a legend at the club having made more Premier League appearances (364) and is 13th on the list of all-time Everton appearances (422).
Ahead of his return to where it all started, the Killybegs-born man said: "It will be a huge honour for me to return to Sligo Rovers with Everton for our opening pre-season friendly of the summer.
"Sligo is a club I obviously hold close to my heart, with them putting their faith in me as a young player which eventually led to my move to Everton.
"I still have many friends at Sligo and it’s been great to see the close bond between the two clubs strengthen over the years. Going back there after more than 15 special years as an Evertonian will mean a lot to my family and me."
It will sure be great to see Coleman make his return and the 35-year-old is bound to get a glowing reception.
