Sergio Ramos was recording documentary about himself as Ajax thumped Real Madrid

Without even kicking a ball, Tuesday night was probably one of the worst nights of Sergio Ramos' career. The Real Madrid captain watched on from the stands as his teammates were rolled over 4-1 by Ajax in their own stadium, enough for the Dutch club to reach their first Champions League quarter-final since 2003. Ramos missed the game through suspension after picking up a yellow card in the first leg in Amsterdam. Real were winning 2-1 at the time, seemingly putting them in a strong position to advance to the last eight with the the second leg in Madrid still to come. Because of this, many saw his booking as a tactical one which would theoretically clear his disciplinary record for the remainder of the competition. Uefa agreed, banning him for an extra game. Watching on from his customised box - complete with 'SR4' branding - Ramos was powerless to prevent his side slipping out of the competition they've won for the last three years on the trot. Worse still, reports in Spain from Marca also claim he was being recorded during the game for his new documentary. It was announced last month that Ramos would be the subject of a new documentary series from Amazon Prime, makers of 'All or Nothing', which charted Manchester City's march to the Premier League title in the 2017/18 season. The eight-part series will offer an insight into the Spain international's life both on and off the field, and features interviews with his friends and relatives, as well as his teammates. It remains to be seen whether or not the footage recorded last night makes the final cut, but the possibility that it might be included is enough reason for us all to give it a watch when it's released later this year.
