Shelbourne and Bohemians to share new stadium

A deal has been reached with Shelbourne to move the club to Dalymount Park.

The north Dublin club are set to leave their Drumcondra home and share a new redeveloped stadium with Bohemians. Dublin City Council are said to have acquired the lease for Shelbourne's Tolka Park. Next year, Dalymount will undergo a construction to transform the stadium into a 10,000-capacity site with the FAI believed to be in line to acquire the lease and use the new stadium as Dublin's part in staging games during Euro 2020, which will be played all over the continent. Whilst the stadium's facelift continues, Bohemians will move to Tolka Park and share the stadium with Shels before both clubs return to Dalymount together. Dublin City Council confirmed to 98FM that a deal had been agreed to acquire the lease at Tolka Park and Shelbourne are readying for a new home.

"We hope to be in a position to announce our part in the project in the coming weeks," a Shelbourne spokesperson said.

"We expect to be relinquishing our interests in Tolka Park and moving to a revamped Dalymount as Co-Anchor Tenants with Bohemians.

"But as the plans for the new stadium have neither been drawn up, or discussed in detail, yet we will not be commenting further at this stage."
