Sky Sports retract false claim from Patrice Evra about Wilfried Zaha and David Moyes’ daughter

Sky Sports were made to clarify a statement made by Patrice Evra ahead of Manchester United's 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening. Before the match, discussion was focused on Palace's captain on the day Wilfried Zaha, who spent an ill-fated season at United in 2013/14. Evra mentioned an alleged affair between Zaha and then Manchester United manager David Moyes' daughter, a rumour which has been denied by both parties, who say they have never met each other. Immediately after his comment, host Kelly Cates clarified that they did not know whether or not the rumours were true. And after the game, she made another statement. "We have to clarify a comment made earlier in the programme, suggesting that there may have been a relationship between Wilfried Zaha and David Moyes' daughter," Cates said. "We understand that Wilfried Zaha has never met David Moyes' daughter and that the claim made by Patrice was false. "We apologise for any offence caused." Zaha had the last laugh on the day, scoring two goals against his old club, taking his tally to three in the first two games of the season.
