Tottenham have called on social media companies and authorities to "take action" after Son-Heung min was targeted by racist abuse in their 2-0 win against West Ham. Son came off the bench to score Spurs' second goal as they returned to winning ways following back-to-back defeats against Leicester and AC Milan. The South Korean's night was quickly marred after he was on the end of more vile racist abuse just hours after the win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs released a statement on Twitter after the game saying: "We have been made aware of the utterly reprehensible online racist abuse directed at Heung-min Son during today's match, which has been reported by the club. "We stand with Sonny and once again call on the social media companies and authorities to take action." https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/1627396762095783940 It's the latest in a list of appalling racial incidents after Brentford received a barrage of racist messages to his Instagram account after the Bees' draw against Arsenal. Toney had already been the victim of abuse earlier in the season following a 2-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in October. Brentford's statement said: "Immediately after Brentford's game against Arsenal, Ivan Toney received a barrage of abusive, racist direct messages via his Instagram account.

"We are disgusted and saddened that Ivan has had to deal with this yet again. We will not tolerate it and we will do everything we can to pursue the individuals involved.

"How many times does this need to happen? "We call on football fans everywhere to relish the competition and rivalry that exists between us, but to respect and embrace our differences and celebrate the diversity that exists throughout the Premier League.
