England 3-0 Senegal
England booked their place in the quarter finals against France after a 3-0 win against Senegal on Sunday night.
Goals from Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane made sure of the win after Gareth Southgate's side were tested by the reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions for the majority of the first half.
Bukayo Saka completed the rout in the second half with a wonderful goal early into the second half as England ended up cruising to the last eight in Qatar.
England player ratings:
Jordan Pickford: 6
Made an important save to deny Ismaila Sarr in the first half when it was 0-0 but other than that, had little to do defensively. He's likely to be called into action a lot more frequently as we approach the latter stages of the World Cup.
Kyle Walker: 5
Clearly still getting up to speed after a long time out through injury. Struggled with the pace of Ismaila Sarr, resulting in him earning a yellow card.
Improved in places afterwards but will need to seriously up his game when he has the small task of dealing with Kylian Mbappé next weekend.
John Stones: 6
Another good display in the heart of the defence. Stones isn't the player that used to concern you every time he tried to play out from the back anymore. He is assured, resolute and is becoming a leader amongst the back four. It's clear to see why Southgate is such a fan.
Harry Maguire: 6
Solid at the back once again in what was his most difficult test on paper at the World Cup. Has formed a really strong partnership with John Stones at centre back and is growing in confidence. Some players are just made for international football and Maguire is one of those.
Luke Shaw: 6
Wasn't troubled much down his side of the pitch but was tidy and assured when called upon and is probably one of the players guaranteed to start next weekend.
Declan Rice: 6
One of Rice's quieter games in an England shirt, but that isn't to say he had a bad performance. One of his biggest talents is running with the ball at his feet and when he had the opportunity to do so, looked very impressive.
Jude Bellingham: 9
Honestly running out of superlatives for this star. Once again Bellingham delivered on the big stage and took the game by the scruff of its neck to put England in the ascendancy. His involvement in both goals were brilliant in their own right, but the second was something else.
Every time he plays he gets better and better. A timely reminder that he is 19-years-old... 19! England's best player by a mile again tonight and France will have to do an excellent job to keep him quiet.
Jordan Henderson: 7
A lot of debate was made over Henderson's inclusion for the Wales game but just like he did then, he showed why Gareth Southgate has so much faith in him.
It was another mature performance in the middle of the park and his goal towards the end of the first half was a massive boost for England, who had been under some intense pressure from Senegal for large spells of the first 45.
Bukayo Saka: 8
Some people questioned Southgate's decision to include Saka in the starting XI but his performance proved why Southgate is paid to make the big decisions and us lot at home aren't. His goal was a wonderfully executed dink over the top of Edouard Mendy.
Saka offers so much in going forward, as well as defensively, and could be one of the most important players heading into the latter stages.
Phil Foden: 8
Foden has been the name on everyone's lips associated with England and today proved why. Setting up two of the three goals, the midfielder oozed class. The way he glides with the ball is a joy to behold and we are very lucky to have him amongst our ranks.
Make no question about it that England's long-term future is going to be build around him and Bellingham and we are absolutely here for it.
Harry Kane: 7
Finally got himself on the scoresheet after registering blanks in the previous three games. Led the line brilliantly once more and doubled the Three Lions' lead shortly before half time following a devastating counter-attack.
The goal came at a perfect time for Kane and England, with some left concerned by his lack of goals in Qatar so far, but confidence will now be running through his veins ahead of a difficult quarter final tie.
