Transfer Talk: Another done deal for United and an Irish international is in Chelsea’s sights

Ever since Manchester United signed Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven earlier this week, fans had been very curious about what other high-profile arrivals they could expect at Old Trafford in the summer. Well it looks like the oft-discussed deal for Ilkay Gundogan could be going ahead with reports in Metro that the Borussia Dortmund midfielder has agreed a deal with United. It's understood that the German international will turn down any contract offers from the Bundesliga club which will make a move to the Premier League imminent, with Manchester United almost certain to sign him up for €29 million. And with the signing of Memphis Depay, the future looks bleak for the misfiring, failure-to-beat-the-first-man Argentine Angel di Maria in Manchester. Di Maria was pegged as United's marquee signing last summer but has chipped in with only three Premier League goals, making him about as popular with Man U fans as an Oasis greatest hits album. But it appears that we may not be seeing much more of the worryingly slight di Maria as Paris Saint-Germain look set to offer United a loan deal according to The Sun. The deal would not be unlike United's current agreement with Radamel Falcao, with PSG willing to offer €8 million up front and the option of a permanent move in place if he succeeds at Parc des Princes. Anyway, enough about Memphis Depay, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Everton right back Seamus Coleman according to reports in The Daily Mail. The Blues are apparently interested in a double swoop for the Irish international and back-four buddy John Stones at the end of the season. Toffees boss Roberto Martinez will do everything he can to hang on to the pair who have been the foundation of Everton's defence all season but the Abramovich millions can do wonders in terms of mind changing. Memphs Depay has never played in goal ... but Petr Cech has and reports in Metro claim that Liverpool "have been cleared to sign" Chelsea's substitute stopper for a fee of around €13 million. The Czech international is dying for a bit of first team football after Thibaut Courtois so rudely became the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, leaving Cech sat on the bench thinking up drum covers. Liverpool's Simon Mignolet has looked far from reliable all season and it looks as though Cech may be ready to dethrone him but the Reds will face competition for his signature with Arsenal, Inter Milan and Roma all monitoring the 32-year-old.
