Transfer talk: Gonzalo Higuain set to snub Manchester United and Chelsea for Premier League rivals

Gonzalo Higuain is heading to the Premier League, but won't be a Red Devil or a Blue according to a former Napoli star.

After Napoli failed to qualify for the Champions League, striker Higuain's days at the club appear to be numbered. Some of Europe's top clubs are attempting to capitalise on Napoli's misfortune by luring the Argentine away from Naples. Chelsea are said to have already made a £30million bid, while there are reports circulating that Manchester United have agreed terms on a contract with the player. However, former Napoli star Jose Alberti is supremely confident that Arsenal have already won the race to sign the sharpshooter, according to the Express.

“In my opinion, I’m 90% sure he will go to Arsenal. It could be a minimum of €5million [a year]. “It is not possible that a player like him wants to remain at Napoli this year after missing out on the Champions League."

Spanish paper AS claim that Celtic want to sign  Martin Ødegaard on a season long loan from Real Madrid. The 16-year-old has yet to find form at Real Madrid B and could be farmed out for a few months to help his development. Two major incentives for Ødegaard to join the Glasgow outfit are getting essential match practice in a top flight league and he may also participate in the Champions League. Celtic manager Ronny Deila was also Ødegaard’s coach at Strømsgodset, where he was first pegged as football's next big thing. They might be missing out on Higuain, but Chelsea could have another striker in their sights. The Metro are reporting that Jose Mourinho dropped a major hint that suggests he's interested in bringing Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge after his Manchester United loan spell expired. The Special One appeared on South American TV and was talking like the diminutive Colombian was already on Chelsea's books.

Mourinho also quashed rumours that Juan Cuadrado is set to leave the club, despite being heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan. Robbie Keane's American dream will continue after he signed a contract extension to keep him at LA Galaxy.
