When you look at Arsenal play, what's the one type of player you think they're missing to become genuine Premier League and Champions League contenders?
Yeah, that's right, a skilful, attacking midfielder. A team featuring Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky is clearly lacking a playmaker, right?
Well, if you believe reports from Spain, then the Gunners are looking to add another midfielder to their squad in the form of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Borussia Dortmund player is reportedly being monitored by Arsenal scouts, and could be available for €25m in the summer.
Mkhitaryan wants to remain at the Bundesliga club, but could be tempted by a move to London, particularly if Dortmund miss out on Champions Legue qualification. The 26-year-old Armenian joined Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk almost two years ago.
Liverpool have a Premier League replacement lined up for the soon-to-be departed Glen Johnson. According to The Daily Star, Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat has impressed Anfield scouts during his first season in England and is seen as having the technical ability required to go straight into Brendan Rodgers' side.
Newcastle signed the 25-year-old from Feyenoord for €7 million last summer, after an impressive display for the Netherlands during their run to third place in the World Cup.
Janmaat is less than a year into a six-year deal, but, like all Newcastle players, is available should another club meet his valuation.
Johnson, meanwhile, has not been offered a new deal and is certain to leave Anfield on a free transfer this summer.
