Transfer talk: Origi not returning to Liverpool and a new midfielder for Manchester United

The beginning of a new week and for Premier League clubs the pressure is increasing to add to their squads as the Janury transfer deadline approaches. One club not too concerned about bargain hunting is Manchester United who are linked with Turkey's Ozan Tufan this morning. The 19-year-old is a very capable defensive midfielder and could solve a very big problem for the club in the centre of the pitch with Michael Carrick edging close to retirement. If Louis van Gaal does move back to a standard 4-4-2, especially after the weekend win over QPR, then the Bursaspor man could fit neatly into the side. He's wanted by several top clubs across Europe including Juventus and Atletico Madrid as well as at Old Trafford according to The Guardian this morning. Liverpool's deal to bring Divock Origi to Anfield this month appears to have broken down. According to the Daily Star the club are now content to go with what they have in Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert as well as Fabio Borini to complement the returning Daniel Sturridge. It's not like Origi has been lighting up the scoring charts either as he has endured a terrible run of form in France, and he hasn't scored for Lille in the league since September. Tony Pulis could be trying to fool us all if he gets his wish to sign Callum McManaman. The West Brom manager is lining up a €6million bid for the 23-year-old who wouldn't exactly be considered a typical Pulis signing. However, the FA cup winner is valued a bit more highly by Wigan than the baseball-capped one and according to the Daily Telgraph they would prefer at least €8million-plus for the midfielder. Championship high-flyers Bournemouth  are also interested in the cousin of the former floppy haired Liverpool winger Steve. When you lose 5-0 at home and conceded a goal inside a minute a defender should be top of the wanted list and Gary Monk has his eyes on Norwich's Martin Olsson. The Swansea manger saw his side fall asleep at the wheel in a big way at the weekend to Chelsea, and is hoping to tempt the Norway defender back to the Premier League. Norwich are looking for at least €6million for the 26-year-old who is highly rated and well used to life in England's top flight Arsenal completed a very impressive shut-out of Manchester City on Sunday and maybe Arsene Wenger is now finally coming around to the idea a team can defend and still win games According to The Guardian the Gunners are interested in signing Villarreal centre-half Gabriel Paulista. The Brazilian is part of a Villarreal side that has gone unbeaten since November and won't come cheap. But with Mattieu Debuchy out for at least three months the 24-year-old would provide excellent cover if the clubs can agree a fee.
