Here’s what Diego Maradona allegedly said to Juan Veron during their charity match bust-up

Worst match for peace ever.

Diego Maradona doesn't care if he's playing in a "match for peace" organised by his compatriot Pope Francis, if he has a problem with you, he's going to tell you. The Argentine legend clashed with Juan Sebastian Veron during a game in Rome. Maradona had appeared to be enjoying himself in the game, and even set up for a goal for Francesco Totti.

However, something triggered a strong reaction from the 55-year-old when he came in contact with Veron, the former Manchester United midfielder who played under him for the Argentina national team between 2008 and 2010.

The pair have previous.

"Veron betrayed me, like he did with [Jose Luis Calderon]. He acts like a big-shot director," Maradona said when the former midfielder was part of the process that appointed Gerardo Martino as Argentina manager between following the 2014 World Cup.

"I don't want anything to do with him nor with his father, I won't go anywhere with him."

It appears Diego hasn't forgiven his former player just yet, and allegedly told the 41-year-old during the game in Rome:

"I don't f*** you about, I tell you straight to your face, idiot."

Maradona had to be restrained by security staff and former Brazil defender Cafu.
