We’re not convinced Ryan Giggs will take Peter Kenyon’s advice about his next move

Peter Kenyon was the man that brought Jose Mourinho to England.

Kenyon, who previously served as Chelsea and Manchester United chief executive, was on Sky Sports this afternoon to give his take on the Jose Mourinho appointment. He spoke glowingly of the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss and suggested that United's fortunes could soon be on the rise. Kenyon's most interesting take was on what Ryan Giggs should do next. The Welshman has been at United for 28 years, played 23 seasons with the club and served as assistant coach to David Moyes and Louis van Gaal. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/728926624700305409 While many are advising Giggs to jump ship to get experience as first-team head coach, Kenyon is not so sure. He said:

"Ryan’s got an amazing opportunity, if the circumstances allow it, to learn from one of the best coaches in the world and learn things that he won’t from going somewhere else at this stage, even being a number two somewhere perhaps a bit more comfortable."

Asked if Giggs would be put out if Mourinho installed Rui Faria as his right-hand man, Kenyon said:

"I don’t think this is about pecking order. "This is about Rui’s rule within Jose’s coaching team which is very specific, very unique, and I think within that team there is a role potentially for another type of coach and if that’s Ryan I think that’s fantastic."

Whether or not Giggs will heed Kenyon's advice remains to be seen. He is currently on holidays with his family.
