What a win for the Rossies.

Kevin McStay's men went into Sunday's Connacht final against Galway as huge underdogs. Logic suggested a Galway win. The Tribesmen had defeated Mayo in the semi-final, they had won division two in the League. Many fancy them as one of the best up-and-coming teams in the GAA. Roscommon weren't having any of it. It just goes to show, with Galway winning division 2 in the league, and Roscommon only winning one out of their seven games in division one, that Championship really does take on a life of its own. Roscommon wanted it more in Pearse Stadium on Sunday. They were hungry, they were relentless, they were absolutely ravenous. Nobody embodied this hunger more than Roscommon's direct-running midfield powerhouse Enda Smith. Chris O'Dowd, one of Roscommon's most famous sons, and also a former county minor goalkeeper was lapping it all up in California.
