Shaquille O’Neal is now a part-time police officer in Florida

Being a retired sportsman can be tough. You miss the routine of the dressing room, you tend to overeat, and it turns out you that being able to shoot a ball into a small round hole from 20 feet isn't much good to you in the real world. But being 7 foot and and over 300lbs will probably get you work somewhere, and the man known simply as 'Shaq' is now on the road to becoming a full time police officer in Florida. The former L.A Lakers player officially joined the state's reserve police force on Tuesday and will work as a community officer with children. He  told the Miami Herald that he's looking to become a police sheriff or sheriff in the future and wants to learn from the current local chief Donald De Lucca, 'He’s a great leader. I’m learning from him, watching him. He’s a good friend of mine, and in order to become a great leader, you have to master their style and then create your own style.' It won't be the first time that O'Neill will be upholding the law in an official capacity at least, as he's previously served as a reserve officer in Miami Beach and Golden Beach in Florida as well as in LA and Arizona. We're pretty sure if he stopped you for having a missing bulb in your Nissan Micra you'd be getting it fixed pretty quick. H/t Guardian
