Two of Ireland's long distance runners are in action tonight as they go in search of a gold medal at the European Athletics Championships.
Anika Thompson and Laura Mooney are involved in the women's 10,000m final in Rome tonight.
Although neither of the two are favourites to land themselves a medal, Thompson and Mooney are both highly-rated and have in fact been in direct competition with each other.
Thompson, based in the US, actually broke Mooney's U23 10,000m national record in California at the end of March and the duo will be looking to finish inside the top 20 and potentially even record personal best performances.
The final gets underway at 8:30pm tonight and will be available for viewers to watch live on RTÉ Player.
Regardless of whether either one of Thompson or Mooney can bag themselves a medal, Ireland will be heading home from Italy knowing that this was their most successful European Athletics Championships.
Ireland have won three medals, two gold and a silver, surpassing their two golds and one bronze in 1998.
There's still action to come on the final day too (Wednesday June 12) as the women's 4x400m team stand a real chance of obtaining a medal.
Andrew Coscoran will also be in action in the men's 1,500m final and Brian Fay, Cormac Dalton, Peter Lynch and Efrem Gidey will all compete in the men's 10,000m final.
