Video: Bode Miller suffers high-speed fall in World Championship, ends up with nasty cut [Graphic Content]

Yet another reminder of just how dangerous downhill skiing can be

Only 10 weeks after leaving hospital following a back operation, American Bode Miller is back in the care of medical professionals. Miller was competing in his first race of the 2014-15 season, the World Championships in Beaver Creek in the US when his arm clipped a gate, sending the 37-year-old spinning down the course. The impact resulted in this gruesome cut on his calf as his left ski clipped his right leg and the skiier also suffered a torn right hamstring in the fall.

Thankfully, Miller is okay, and he has even tweeted a picture from his hospital bed.
