It’s the fixture that splits a city, a rivalry that carries over a century of history, pride, and passion. Red vs Blue. Kopite vs Toffee. Brother vs Brother.
Okay, all dramatisation aside, we've got a big game on our hands this weekend and despite how the teams look on paper, it truly is one of those fixtures where anything can happen.
With Liverpool currently sitting top of the table with 12 points, and Everton not massively far behind in sixth place with seven points, a win is vital for either team even with rivalries pushed aside.
Appearing on this week’s House of Football, Graham O'Toole, Enda Coll, and Gerard Brand put their heads together to discuss the endless possibilities of just what is at stake this Saturday.
Check it out below:
As usual, one of the show’s hot topics was the trio’s pick for a combined XI of Merseyside players and, true to form, the balance between Reds and Blues raised a few eyebrows.
In fact, only two Everton players made the cut.
Here’s how their lineup shapes up:
Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
Defence: O’Brien, Virgil van Dijk, Kerkez, Frimpong
Defensive midfield: Szoboszlai, Mac Allister
Attacking midfield: Grealish, Salah, Ekitike
Attack: Alexander Isak
Some names sparked debate on the podcast, with a few fan favourites missing out entirely.
You can catch the full discussion, including all the reasoning behind each selection, on this week’s House of Football podcast, brought to you by Coca-Cola, official partner of the Premier League.

Circle K’s Grand Finale draw is almost here!
