Boxing legend, George Foreman, has sadly passed away at the age of 76.
Known as Big George, Foreman was known for his ferocity and punching power in the ring.
He won the Olympic gold in 1968 and held multiple the heavyweight titles in two periods during his career, the second of which making him the oldest champion in history aged 45.
Foreman first lost his WBA, WBC, and The Ring belts to Muhammad Ali in their legendary Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire back in 1974.
He stopped fighting between 1977 and 1987, but in 1994 he defeated Michael Moorer to claim the WBA and IBF heavyweight titles.
Foreman finished his fighting career in 1997, after a loss to Shannon Briggs, with a record of 76 wins, including 68 knockouts, and five losses.
In an Instagram post, his family said: "A humanitarian, an Olympian, and two time heavyweight champion of the world, He was deeply respected - a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name - for his family,"
Among non-boxing fans, Foreman is world renowned for being the face of the George Foreman grill.
