Tyson Fury has revealed plans to fight in Dublin this summer.
Just one week after Anthony Joshua made his comeback, Fury took to Instagram to post a story showing him back training in Thailand with the caption: "Let's go August 1, Dublin, Ireland."
Dubliner Pierce O’Leary is set to face Mark Chamberlain at the 3Arena on the same night, with Fury expected to be added to the bill.
While Fury’s opponent has yet to be confirmed, promoter Frank Warren has ruled out a clash with Andy Ruiz Jr, the man who dethroned Joshua to become world champion in 2019.
The bout is seen as a warm-up for Fury and Joshua’s long-awaited showdown, reportedly set for November, while Joshua faces Albania’s Kristian Prenga in July, his first fight since last year’s car crash that killed two of his closest friends.
Fury marked his return from a 16-month retirement in April with a victory over Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov, before calling out Joshua afterwards, to which he responded: "I'm the landlord, remember that. You work for me."
“Signed, sealed, delivered — AJ vs Fury is on,” Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn later declared.
