Eddie Hearn has revealed some provisional details about a Katie Taylor homecoming

What a night that was.

On Saturday night a fighter from Bray became a champion of the world. Katie Taylor has represented her country with nothing but pride since lacing on a pair of boxing gloves. For her efforts, she has accumulated countless European and World titles at amateur level along with an Olympic gold medal. But fighting in Cardiff on Saturday night Katie Taylor was crowned a world champion as a professional fighter, her highest achievement to date. Everyone in Ireland has known for years that Taylor is a special talent and now her promoter knows that too. Eddie Hearn knows where the money is, he's now sold out Wembley Stadium twice along with the Principality Stadium at the weekend but has big plans for Taylor. Speaking to SportsJOE, Hearn said:

"To have women's boxing showcased in front of 70 or 80,000 thousand, there were probably nearly 60,000 in the arena when she was boxing that was incredible. "I really feel like that was the fight and that was the night to take, I think we'll leave women's boxing to the side and we'll take Katie Taylor to the next level and make her a worldwide star."

High praise from a man that promotes the best in the business but we all want to know what is next for Taylor, after the fight her manager said that they are hopeful of a homecoming fight but before that Hearn has something really big in store:

"If it was up to Katie she'd fight every week, she got cut in the fight which was the first time in her pro-career but she wants to box in September and we're looking to headline her in England in December. "It would be the first time a female boxer headlined a Sky Sports show."

It does really take a unique talent to burst on the scene and draw that kind of demand but it is no surprise to anyone that has been following Taylor's career, she's a superstar. But what about a homecoming?

"Then the plan is to come to Dublin next Spring in a unification fight, she wants to win every belt in the division and probably move up and try and do it all again."
