A fight between Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron at Croke Park could be funded by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, according to its CEO Nakisa Bidarian.
Taylor has long spoken openly about wanting to fight at Dublin’s Croke Park, but Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn has been equally vocal about the expense in comparison to Wembley.
Taylor beat Amando Serrano for the third time in New York in July, but the 39-year-old is yet to announce her retirement.
It is thought that only a Croke Park bout would keep Taylor fighting, and Bidarian says MVP have the willpower to fund the expense.
“Chantelle is a tough fight for Katie," Bidarian told BBC Sport. "It's her only loss. So you have to really see if that makes sense, and we'd like to do that at Croke Park.
"We haven't talked to Matchroom about it, but Jake and I have talked at length about it.
"100% for the right fight, we would be willing to do that [fund a Croke Park fight,” Bidarian said. "There's no doubt about it."
Hearn replied by saying: "They had the chance to fund the Serrano fight at Croke Park, but they chose to go to Madison Square Garden because it was a lot more lucrative.
"It's a nice soundbite. But the reality is it won't be down to Nakisa.
"It will be down to Katie Taylor which at this stage the first question is, do you want to fight again?
"Croke Park is really the only box that's never been ticked, so if she fights again, I think it will probably come with the carrot of Croke Park.
"If she fights [again], I don't think it will be until next summer."
Hearn last week had criticised Croke Park organisers, accusing them of “not being massive fans of boxing.”
Putting on a fight at Croke Park would reportedly cost €1.1m, roughly twice as much as Wembley or the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
“When you look at Croke Park, I just don’t think the people there are massive fans of boxing. I think they’re fans of Katie Taylor, but I just don’t they really like boxing. But Katie Taylor is beyond boxing.
“I mean, she’s sport – but she’s also history and heritage, and probably one of the greatest ever athletes from that country.”
