Conor McGregor reveals his plans for when he returns to Ireland

"I've had many great moments – but to go back this month to Crumlin as the UFC world champion will be the pinnacle."

Conor McGregor has told Donald McRae, in a wide ranging interview in The Guardian, that he could be back in Ireland before the end of August, and that he can't wait to return to Crumlin to see his childhood friends. The UFC's Interim Featherwight World Champion grew up in the Dublin area, before moving to Lucan with his family when he was 17. However, McGregor says he never settled in the west-Dublin suburb, and that he "never truly left Crumlin." "You have your friends at that age and where we moved to I didn’t relate to anyone," McGregor said. "My boxing gym was in Crumlin, my football club was in Crumlin. I love Crumlin dearly. I love Dublin 12 dearly. Anytime I am back in Dublin I head to Crumlin, to my friends. I’ve had many great moments – but to go back this month to Crumlin as the UFC world champion will be the pinnacle." McGregor is currently in Las Vegas, filming The Ultimate Fighter ahead of potential December fight against Jose Aldo in Dallas.
