UFC debuts don't come much bloodier than this.

Sabah Homasi was always going to be up against it for his first Octagon outing, when he stepped in on two weeks notice to take on wily veteran Tim Means after Sean Strickland was forced to withdraw from UFC 202 with an injury. Means is a tough opponent for most welterweights but for a fighter also combating first day jitters, he is an absolute nightmare and Homasi found out the hard way. In the first fight on the UFC 202 main card last Saturday, Homasi was picked apart by the much more precise striker in Means and was left a bloody mess by the time that referee Herb Dean had seen enough midway through the second round. You couldn't fault Homasi's fighting spirit as he refused to drop under the final Means onslaught but the damage he had taken was sufficient enough for Dean to rightly wave the fight off.
