“I will be part of that show” – Conor McGregor’s determined to fight at UFC Dublin

Conor McGregor wants to fight at UFC Dublin.

The Notorious was speaking at this evening's press conference promoting his fight against Chad Mendes, at UFC 189 this Saturday, and already has his eye on his next event. "You cannot bring the show into Dublin, the show that I build in my home city and not have me part of it," McGregor said. "I don’t care if it’s in front of 60,000, 70,000 in Croke Park or in front of 9,500 in the O2. I will be part of that show." The event is due to take place on October 24th, at the 3Arena, and it was widely believed that McGregor's profile is now too high to be part of a UFC Fight Night event. Irish fighters such as Cathal Pendred, Joseph Duffy, Paddy Holohan, Neil Seery, Aisling Daly and Paul Redmond are expected to take part, and McGregor now seems determined to be part of the show. Speaking about the significance of Saturday's event for Ireland as a country, McGregor said: "It’s a monumental moment for me, my team, my country. We’re running the fight game, the fight Irish are back." "It’s an historic moment." When asked by a fan if Dublin could host a stadium event, most likely at Croke Park, UFC's Dave Sholler said: "Right now there are no limitations that we’re aware of (in hosting a UFC event in a stadium in Dublin)". "We’re avaluating our options for Dublin, we know all you fans want a stadium show in the coming months we’ll evaluate what we’re able to do."
