Irish motorcyclist, Louis O'Regan, has died following a crash during qualifying for the Senior Manx Grand Prix on Sunday.
The 43-year-old, who made his debut in the Grand Prix in 2013, was killed following a collision at Kate's Cottage during the Isle of Man event.
A statement from race organisers read: "Louis, an Irishman who lived in Didcot, England, was an experienced competitor at the Manx Grand Prix having made his debut in the 2013 Newcomers A Race, finishing 12th.
"He recorded his personal best lap speed in the 2019 Junior Race, lapping at an average speed of 114.7mph.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to Louis’s partner Sarah, his family, loved ones, and friends."
While the session was postponed following the fatal accident, it's set to resume again today.
Manx Grand Prix paid tribute to Louis on X, writing: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm the loss of Louis O'Regan following an incident in today's qualifying session.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to Louis' partner, his family, loves ones, and friends."
Manx GP Vice Chairman, Jim Hunter, added: "Tough start. We all know it can happen, but it's still nonetheless shocking when it does.
"The only consolation we can take from this is that he was doing something he loved. Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Louis O'Regan."
