Australia hooker admits he’s one head injury away from giving up rugby

Rugby players are increasingly being forced to give up the game due to concussions, with Wallaby forward Tatafu  Polota-Nau the latest to admit he could opt to walk away rather than risk further injury

The 29-year-old hooker has played 50 times for Australia but his fearless style of play has resulted in a number of head injuries during his career. And, after collecting another blow to head for the Waratahs over the weekend, Polota-Nau conceded that fears for his health could prompt his early retirement. 'At the end of the day it will come down to taking those right precautions, because if I do, for instance, get another head knock, then I will probably have to consider either taking a long stint off or even hanging up the boots,' Polota-Nau said. 'There's more to life than just rugby, but at the same time I still feel like I've got unfinished business with rugby itself.' [h/t ABC]
