We all know that extra gear that players magically seem to find when they have family or friends watching the game.
And the pressure of performing in front of brother David, who works as a cameraman for BBC Wales, fueled Roberts' game.
The Racing Metro player led the defence that had Wales leading the All Blacks with less than 20 minutes remaining.
He drove at the Kiwi line with typical power and determination and just had one of those days where almost everything came off for him, except the scoreline of course.
Roberts spoke 10 days ago, after the Australia game about his brother's presence at games at the Millenium Stadium and how it affects him.
He said: "My brother [was] working one of the pitchside cameras. I did my best to avoid looking at him but it’s very special having your family there for the big occasions."
