Paul O’Connell was not too chuffed with his English football-themed bedroom

Not exactly the view you are looking for on the first morning of another big World Cup week.

The Irish team are based at St George's Park for most of the week, ahead of their Pool D clash with Romania. Ireland team manager Mick Kearney says, 'We looked at a number of venues in London but then we came up here and we were really impressed. I’ve been here three times and Joe also came over six months ago and was massively impressed by the set-up.' The training facilities were custom-built for the English FA and include an on-site hotel. It is no surprise, then, that some of the rooms are adorned with pictures of, and memorabilia from, the English football team.
