Racing president mocks big-spending Toulon about Dan Carter move

Dan Carter will officially be a Racing 92 player on December 1 and Jacky Lorenzetti is chuffed.

The Racing president is loving the attention his Parisian side are enjoying, this week, after the capture of Carter. The New Zealand out-half will be the world's highest paid player, on €1m-a-season, and Racing hope he will bring some cup-winning fortune their way. The 33-year-old was guest of honour at Stade Yves Du Manoir, this afternoon, as his new team took on Toulouse. He had the suspended Bernard le Roux and a pain de jambon for company on the Racing bench. https://twitter.com/racing92/status/670597790733639680 Carter was presented to the French media on Friday and, while they were there, reporters sought out Racing's multi-millionaire owner, Lorenzetti. He could not resist a dig at big-spending, trophy-hogging Toulon and Mourad Boudjellal, their president. According to Midi Olympique, Lorenzetti declared:

"Mourad wanted the brioche but ended up getting the crumbs."

Boudejellal may well respond, and we're sure he will. The simplest answer would be to point to the club's three European Cups and one Top 14 title in the last three years. Racing have not won anything since a French championship win in 1990.
