Scott Williams details just how badly he injured himself after THAT tackle on Brian O’Driscoll

The Welsh centre unloaded with the biggest tackle Brian O'Driscoll ever shipped in his 15-year Test career. It wrecked them both.

Back in 2014, before his fairytale finish, Brian O'Driscoll nearly didn't make it past the Welsh. In a match programme interview ahead of the Guinness PRO12 semi final clash between Leinster and Williams' Scarlets, he recalled the damage that tackle did to his body.

“I remember it quite well. I came off the worst, to be quite honest with you. I would’ve taken the bruising compared to what I got. "I had done my homework on him with Ireland and noticed how they attacked off their lineout, using him. I say the play as it was about to unfold and made the decision to blitz up onto Brian. "My AC [shoulder joint] just caught him right on his elbow. I managed to tear all the ligaments on my AC and tear my deltoid muscle while I was at it. "I tried to play on for another 10 minutes as I didn’t want to let on I was hurt but my shoulder was hanging off."
