The Argentines popped a wispy balloon of French optimism last weekend when they defeated Les Bleus 18-13. Absorbed as we were in Ireland's winning exploits against Australia, we assumed the French didn't show up - metaphorically, spiritually and physically. They gave it a good crack, however, but ran into a light blue and white wall.
