Alex Ferguson reveals who he thinks can sort out the FIFA mess

The last time Alex Ferguson recommended someone for a job it didn't go too well.

But the former Manchester United manager isn't deterred and is back in the recruitment recommendation game. Ferguson has weighed in on the FIFA scandal and believes a certain David is the ideal candidate to take over from Sepp Blatter when he eventually steps down, sometime in the next year. Unfortunately it's David Gill, and not David Moyes, who Fergie wants to see man the FIFA ship, believing the former United Chief Executive, and current Football Association Vice-President, should be the new FIFA President. "David's just what's needed to repair the damage done to world football with the recent allegations of bribery and corruption. Without question he is the best football administrator in Britain," Ferguson told The Sun. "He is honest, straightforward and has a vast knowledge of football. These are qualities which are alien to FIFA just now. He is also extremely eloquent and has a great presence." Ferguson and Gill worked together for over a decade at Old Trafford, and both left their positions at the end of the 2012/2013 Premier League season. The former United boss regarded Gill as a key ally during his tenure. "I certainly benefited from his efficiency, working alongside him at Manchester United for nearly 20 years. We were a great team." Should FIFA listen to Fergie's advice? In other FIFA news, Jerome Valcke, the associations' Secretary General, said today that the bidding process for the 2026 World Cup has been postponed.
