Chelsea goalkeeper Marco Amelia has yet to play a single minute for the first-team, yet still boasts a huge 195,000 followers on Twitter. But according to research from sports betting social network Better Collective, more than half of them are fake.
But that's nothing compared to Fernandinho, who has more fake followers than Amelia has followers full stop. Some 40% of the Man City man's 1.1m followers are less than legitimate.
Better Collective have also looked at the profiles of entire squads to find out which Premier League clubs have the most fake followers collectively, and it's largely in keeping with the makeup of the table.
