This tweet from Gary Lineker was re-tweeted more than any other during Euro 2016

Gary Lineker's brilliant take on England losing to Iceland was the most re-tweeted tweet of Euro 2016.

The Three Lions lost 2-1 to the tiny island in the last-16 of the tournament, and set social media alight in the process. The nation that invented football were defeated by the smallest country to ever qualify for a major championships, and Lineker's take on the shocking, hilarious and humiliating England defeat pretty much summed up the scale of the result.
