Gary Neville changes his mind about how long he wants to stay in management

Make up your mind man.

The start of the new year came with news that Gary Neville was already sick of being a professional manager. The former Manchester United full-back had been quoted as remarking that he did not see his future in the dugout, and all but ruled out any possibility of taking over at his former club in the future,

"I'm not going to say where I want to end up, and it isn't in management or head coaching, so I want to be clear about that."

"That's not my ultimate goal of where I want to be. From my point of view, I was really enjoying what I was doing, I really was, the multiple things I had on, even though I knew it was coming to a point where I had to make decisions at the end of this season.

But the former Sky Pundit thinks he was taken out of context and has clarified what he actually meant in the aftermath of last night's 2-2 draw between his Valencia aside and Real Madrid.

Neville now admits that he was speaking about life in the future when he spoke about quitting management, and that he is actually enjoying life as the boss of the La Liga, side, despite still not having won a  game in the league yet.

"I was talking about 15 to 20 years' time when I talked about [quitting] management. I absolutely hope I'm here beyond six months but I need to prove myself."

His current deal lasts until the end of the season, but having failed to win a game in the league yet after five attempts, perhaps he will be be granted his wish to quit sooner than he desires.
