The truth is though, that no matter what L'Equipe might think, the Boys In Green played their hearts out and fully deserved their first win at major tournament since that 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia 14 years ago. Footage has emerged from inside the Republic of Ireland team bus following the win showing that the Boys In Green were in full celebration mode on a memorable night in France. Why not? They earned it.
